The select tool allows the user to define an area as selected. All terrain building tools use this selection to limit their effects to the selected area. To use, select the appropriate mode and then click and drag on the 2d view in the editor to define the area you wish to use for selection. The selection is highlighted for the user to identify by a line boundary.
There are two modes of adding selected areas
Freehand: allows the user to draw the selection with the mouse and automatically closes the selection back to the first pixel selected.
Drag Rotate: specifies the angle to rotate the selected area when dragging it.
Rectangle: allows the users to click and drag a rectangle. Once the desired area is enclosed by the rectangle, let go of the mouse button and the selection will be set.
Drag Rotate: specifies the angle to rotate the selected area when dragging it.
Once an selection is defined, you may move the selected area by clicking and dragging within the selected area. This drag operation copies the selection to a new area on the terrain. This uses the drag rotate angle to determine the amount of rotation to perform on the area before the drag operation takes place.
Select All: selects all the heightmap.
Select None: clears all selections.
Select Invert: switches areas that were unselected to selected and vice versa.
